Two people from each of Hudson’s five wards are elected to serve on the committee. These 10 members are also members of the Columbia County Democratic Committee (CCDC).

Unique Responsibility

The Hudson Democratic Committee has a unique role in shaping local elections

  • Approve candidates who are not registered as a Democrat to run on the Democratic line
  • Certify poll watchers to provide oversight of elections
  • Appoint election day poll workers

Supervisor Chameides Contributes to Hudson Democrats

Michael Chameides is a registered Democrat. He served as Chair of the HCDC from June 2015 to September 2017. He helped the committee significantly increase fundraising and engagement. He also contributed to several electoral victories.

In November 2017, Chameides moderated the CD-19 candidate forum. He also serves as the Democratic Minority Leader at the Board of Supervisors.
